This proposed replacement of a former cottage built on a unique lake setting in the adirondacks, aims to blend modern design sensibilities with the local mountain cottage aesthetic.  The design leverages the original footprint of the former cottage which provides a unique opportunity to extend the development into the lake shoreline and offer amazing waterfront access.  Unlike its predecessor, the proposed design aims to elevate the first floor level up on extended piers to take into account the potential for high waters and flooding in the spring months that often used to inundate the original structure.    The tight footprint accommodates two levels and a loft space which includes a serviceable kitchen and living space on the first floor and bedrooms on the levels above.  WIth large glass walls and windows, the views of the lake and surrounding mountains are maximized throughout.  XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
